I’ve tried ventilating with a fan and opening the windows for days on end, but somehow the room still smells of paint.

open windows run fan for awhile..then light candles…then open baking powder up

I’ve heard that white vinegar is supposed to lessen the smell. Just a wive’s tale though but it worked somewhat while I was painting my room.

  3. Jesse says:

you can use onion on it leave a few onions on any wardrobe or couch or any where it will suck up the smell and finish it with charcole and its good then put an essence or light a candle it will get rid of all smells

  4. teekie says:

open a window and leave it open for days

  5. Sis Ivd says:

Put a dish of white vinegar in each corner of the room and close the doors and windows. The paint smell should be gone in a day or so. To get rid of vinegar smells, saturate cotton balls with vanilla extract and throw them throughout the room. Hope this helps.

  6. Geno C says:

Just toss a few regular charcoal briquettes under the bed and dresser and maybe a few in the corners of the room… give it a few days and it will go away, then just throw away the coals.

Wow, was this a water based paint. I never heard of the smell lasting that long. I agree with some other suggestions. Try ventilating the room as much as possible with fans or open window if possible. Also, someone suggested charcoal. Get some of the activated charcoal product from Innofresh. They have a product that I’ve used for paint smell called FridgeIT odor absorbers. Frankly, I’ve used this product in fridge for years but in desperation, I tried it to get rid of other odors in the house and these little odor absorbers always seem to work. I’d give it a try. You can always use them somewhere else too. They have a web site http://www.innofresh.com where you can buy directly from them.
